CLAY-O...

or... "Would you care for a little cinnamon on your French Toast, m'am?"

Sometimes the stars align. Sometimes a once in a lifetime is experienced, and you are lucky enough to realize it at the moment for what it is. And, yes, sometimes delusion becomes reality... if only for a weekend.

That was Clio.

It seems like a dream now, but we have pictures... so we know it happened.

First of all, Clio was the best venue EVER for getting up close and personal. And contrary to popular opinion, there ARE some bad seats... but not many.

Wow, it looks really different in the daylight!

Here's a picture taken from the same spot later that night...

But enough about Clay.

Don't get me wrong! OF COURSE we all LOVE him, desperately!... but I believe that more than one Broad realized last weekend that Clayton is sometimes just the frosting on the cake. Okay, okay!... a big, sumptuous and gooey GLOB of frosting!... and yeah, yeah, maybe a big portion of the CAKE too!) But anyway...

... back to The Ranch.

The wha?

Just sayin' that we had to find SOMEPLACE to hang our hats while we were in Clio, didn't we?

And Pats found just the PERFECT home for us!

Here's a picture of our back yard...

Isn't it purdy?..

And here's a picture of our front yard...

Hmmm. I think I have a better one somewhere.

Yep... I was sure I did...

And it was everything we could have imagined it to be...

...and more.

Right down to the Cinnamon Stallion...

(You can tell that he was VERY excited to see us...can't you?)

Here's Jill showing off one of our toys.

(Boy, did we have fun with THAT!!!)

And that's only a sampling of the weekend's activities...

We had plenty of time for arts and crafts...

(Pats displaying Karen Eh and Lynda's dance captain hat...)

Sign making...

(We won't mention that the sign Carolyn 'Eh was making was for Derek the Drummer...)

...And of course LOTS of time for socializing on The Porch...

Don't they look like a well-behaved gaggle of Broads? (Ahem, I won't tell...I promise.)

Of course there will always be those who make no qualms AT ALL about behaving badly...

C'mon, give us a break! How ridiculous to post no-smoking signs right outside the Stallion's quarters! I mean, geesh!

And this just in!.. We understand that there MAY have been a Waldo sighting somewhere around... 4 o'clock. Of course the only evidence we've been able to uncover so far has been somewhat circumstantial...

Poor Lynda... all we know is that all anyone's heard her mutter since that fatal moment has been a rather muffled "DTTL"...

And of course timing being everything, and hindsite 20/20, no weekend retreat would be complete without a little educational value...

Here are Jannet and Karen Eh demonstrating the benefits and NECESSITIES of eye protection... in all it's varying degrees... (please stay posted for future seminar announcements.)

But all good times come to an end, and as concert time approaches we pack the stallion's shapely ass off to the venue as we begin our own process of figuring out just what to adorn our own shapeliness with. Which happily wasn't much of a chore, again thanks to Pats...

(Pat's Clio t-shirt design!)

Anyway, this is where I bow out, leaving each Broad to post her own special concert experience. And it WAS special... wasn't it? The introduction of the laugh... and the growl,in ISY could not have been just... happenstance.

The barn door is now unlatched gurrls, feel free to let those BEVR's flow!

When all is said and done, life doesn't get much better than it got last weekend in Clio... as silly as it sounds. But really! It still amazes me that I could have possibly grown so close to women I didn't even know a year ago... and met on the INTERNET of all places!... women of different shapes and sizes, from different walks of life and all in different stages of maturity. To add a quote from Marolynn... "as evidence of our man's broad appeal... In our little Clio group, we had no less than 4 sets of moms and daughter's... ages 12 to 85!"

I just love these pictures...

All drawn together quite mysteriously by one man, who's boots can't seem to be filled by anyone or anything else except his big ole' feet for some unexplainable reason...

...and who was willing to wear a cowboy hat for us last weekend, just because we wanted him to...

Thank you to all the Clio Broads: Cath, OH Cindy, Deb in Detroit and mom Lillian, Jenny-O, Jill, Karen Eh and b.i.t. Carolyn, Lynda, Marolynn and b.i.t., Mary, MaryAnn, Mee, Nancy in the Peg, Pats and mom Betty, and Pat in Indy for making it such a wonderful time to remember... and a BIG hug to Broad Carol and Brude Brian, the wonderful keepers of "The Ranch."

Here's to some great memories!

And OK!... you've talked me into it. Here's the REAL sign.

Because who needs delusion anyway?...

When, sometimes, reality can be even "more special"...
